Tonawanda man gets the maximum in girlfriend's death

Mario Turner Sr. will serve 25 years to life for the fatal shooting of Renee Taschetta last April.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — A Town of Tonawanda man will spend the next 25 years to life behind bars for the fatal shooting of his girlfriend last spring.

Last month, a jury found Mario Turner, Sr. 51, guilty as charged of one count of second degree murder.

The victim, Renee Taschetta, was killed shortly after 8 p.m.. April 30 in the home she shared with Turner on Dumas Place in the town.
