TOWN OF CONEWANGO, N.Y. - A Cherry Creek man was arrested after deputies say he tied up an Amish shop owner and then robbed him at gunpoint.

Michael S. Dybka is charged with 1st degree robbery. He is being held at the Cattaraugus County Jail on $100,000 bail.

The Cattaraugus County sheriff's office says the incident happened Thursday on Chapman Road.

The victim told Cattaraugus County deputies that he went to help Dybka, who he thought was a customer. The shop owner said Dybka was wearing a bandana over his face and said he pointed a pistol at him and demanded money.

Deputies say Dybka tied up the shop owner, emptied the register, and then left. The victim gave police a vehicle description. Deputies found Dybka at his home.

Dybka is due back in court at a later date.
