JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — An investigation into a possible fire has led to the findings of much more in one Jamestown apartment.
Jamestown Police Department 1st Platoon, Jamestown Fire Department, and Jamestown Department of Development responded to a reported fire inside of a Jamestown apartment on Monday, January 15 just before 2:00 p.m.
The investigation determined that Leroy had an order of protection against him from the woman who was supposedly willingly staying with him. Leroy caused a fire when intentionally ignited a pile of wood inside an electric cooking stove to try to heat the apartment.
Jared Leroy, 43, of Jamestown has been charged with Arson in the 3rd Degree and Criminal Contempt in the 2nd Degree
Leroy was sent to City Jail where he was held for court and is now held pending arraignment.
