What does a pink stork decal mean on an ambulance?

In August Lockport firefighter paramedics had successfully delivered a baby girl onboard their ambulance on the way to the hospital.

LOCKPORT, N.Y. — Lockport paramedics with the Fire Departments 4th Platoon recently delivered a baby in the back of their ambulance, medic 63. 

In a post made to the Lockport Firefighter page back in August they wrote, "It’s a bird , it’s a plane , it’s a stork? Yes indeed it was! Exciting news! Today FF/ paramedic’s B. Kuczmarski, B. Sukdolak, and R. Hildebrant,  of LFD’s 4th platoon, Delivered a baby aboard Medic 63 while enroute to the hospital. During a reassessment of the patient, birth was determined to be imminent. The crew notified the hospital, prepared for the birth , and subsequently delivered a healthy baby girl! Thanks to their swift actions, both mom and baby arrived at the hospital healthy and stable. Huge congratulations to the team!"

As a tradition, those members of the platoon got to apply a pink stork decal to the side of the ambulance. The tradition signifies that a baby was successfully delivered.
