BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Buffalo pride can now be seen in the form of a cupcake.
Kim Pegula, along with Tara and Jonathan Bondi, the owners and founders of Baked Cupcakery on Grand Island, unveiled the cupcake Wednesday afternoon during a luncheon at Beaver Island's River Grill.
Kim Pegula and her husband Terry Pegula own the Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres. Kim is also Pegula Sports and Entertainment's President and CEO.
Kim designed the One Buffalo Cupcake, according to a news release. The caramel cupcake has salted buttercream frosting and is topped with chocolate covered pretzels, as well as sponge candy pieces.
“I love desserts, and wanted to join a respected local bakery in designing a cupcake that can be uniquely identified as a Western New York favorite," Kim said. "In Baked Cupcakery, we have partnered with a passionate, local start-up business that serves our community with gourmet food items."
The One Buffalo cupcake is among several specialty One Buffalo food and beverage items available in Western New York.
Southern Tier has a One Buffalo beer and Perry' Ice Creams has One Buffalo Premium Ice Cream.
The cupcake will be available at Baked Cupcakery, located at 1879 Whitehaven Road on Grand Island, and at the KeyBank Center on the Premcom Suite Level. The cupcake will also be available at Tops Friendly Markets across Western New York.
“It has been an honor to work with Kim Pegula to create the One Buffalo Cupcake,” said Jonathan Bondi. “Kim’s passion for One Buffalo and love of desserts have combined with our fresh, all-natural ingredients to create a gourmet cupcake that Western New Yorkers will love. It’s our goal to be of service to the community we love, and we are extremely proud to be the creators of this One Buffalo product!”
