BARKER, N.Y. — A rather feathery resident has been creating a lot of commotion in the Village of Barker, but not in a bad way.

Sightings of a peacock, with no known owner, first began back in May. Curious residents have taken to Facebook to see if anyone had lost their rather large bird who could be seen roaming around on roofs, yards, and driveways all across the village.

But nobody has yet claimed the peacock who now has been named Kevin by village folks. He even has his own Facebook group dedicated to documenting his adventures.

The admin of the public Facebook group which is titled 'Legend of Kevin' and created on June 4 wrote to the page: "Feel free to share all your (new or old) Kevin sightings here. This page is for fun. Just to make people smile."

And it has done just that!

A local ice cream stand has also joined in on the fun, selling their very own 'Kevin' garden stakes. See the post attached below courtesy of Harris Farm

Kevin is here! Purchase your commemorative peacock to join in the hunt for Kevin…those that don’t know, we have some elusive peacocks on the run in town!🤣 # saveKevin # adoptKevin
