BUFFALO, N.Y. — National Grid employees brought some holiday cheer to the Kevin Guest House at the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus.
For the 11th year, National Grid employees gave the Kevin Guest House a makeover by install some energy efficient holiday lights for guests to enjoy.
The holiday glow-up helps the Kevin Guest House on its mission to create a home away from home for patients and families traveling to Buffalo to receive medical care.
"These are beautiful Victorian homes that we keep as a home away from home for them. We have amazing volunteers, aside from National Grid, that come and bring home cooked meals every day. They make friends with each other as they are staying here and being able to bring piece of home is a gift. During the holiday season but every day here at Kevin Guest House."
National grid said the energy efficient lights are help save money and will last longer.
The Kevin Guest House was founded in 1972 by Claudia and Cyril Garvey after their 13-year-old son, Kevin, passed away following a fight with leukemia. More than 65,000 guests have stayed there since its opening.
