Holiday shipping dates to remember

Thinking about mailing your holiday gifts to friends or family? Here are the shipping dates you need to know.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Christmas is on a Monday this year and for those last-minute shoppers, you may want to think ahead about sending out your gifts to ensure they arrive in time for the holidays.

If you are shipping with FedEx, the deadline for ground economy shipping is on December 13.  If you choose express shipping, you will want to ship out your gifts by December 19. If you choose a same-day shipping option, you will have until December 22 to ship your package.

Ground shipping with UPS varies and the shipping company advises you to check their website for exact dates. If you choose a three-day shipping option you should send it out by December 19. Second-day shipping by air service with UPS should be done by December 20 and next-day air service has a deadline of December 21 for your package to make it to its destination by the 25th.

United States Postal Service has a ground shipping and first class mail deadline date of December 16. Packages shipped priority mail should be sent by December 18 and priority mail express by USPS is December 20.
