Hidden Valley Animal Adventure owner dies

The Wyoming County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of the owner/operator of the Hidden Valley Animal Adventures.

VARYSBURG, NY-- The Wyoming County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of the owner/operator of the Hidden Valley Animal Adventures.

Investigators say the family told them Hans Boxler, Sr. had gone out to feed the animals around 8:30pm Sunday. When he didn't return, the family went out to look for him and found him deceased.

Investigators say Boxler, Sr., 81, was feeding animals in the laneway when an Nilgai Antelope trampled him to death.

The family says a calling hours will be held at Hidden Valley Animal Adventure July 25 and 26 from 2pm to 9pm. A celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, July 27 with a procession from the Lodge on his beloved Belgian horses carrying him for one final ride to his funeral at St. Joachim and Anne Church in Varysburg.

Hidden Valley Animal Adventure will be closed to the public Monday, July 25-Wednesday, July 27 so friends and family may honor his passing.
