Henry Charlap, founder of Charlap's Dairy Farms passes away

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Henry Charlap, founder of Charlap's Dairy Farms passed away on Monday. 

The announcement was made by family on the Nick Charlap's Ice Cream Facebook page. 

They posted, "Henry was a wonderful & well respected member of the Boston community and will be greatly missed by many. Whether you knew him as "Mr. C", Henry, or Hank....to know him was to love him."

Charlap, 95, was from North Boston.  He is survived by his four children and five grandchildren.  He is predeceased by his wife Esther. 

According to his obituary, Charlap joined the US Marines after graduating from St. Joseph's High School.  He worked in the family business after college8 and became the owner of Charlap's Dairy Farm, Inc.  in the 1960s.  

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, June 22, at SS Peter & Paul RC Church, 66 E. Main Street in  Hamburg at 12:00 PM.  Memorial contributions in Charlap's honor can be made to the American Diabetes Association at diabetes.org.

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our father, and founder of Charlap's Dairy...
