Helping community celebrate Three Kings Day

There will be plenty of presents to go around at the Olivencia Community Center on Saturday, all donated from KeyBank.

Puerto Rican families displaced by Hurricane Maria won't have to worry about how they will celebrate Three Kings Day this year.

There will be plenty of presents to go around at the Olivencia Community Center on Saturday, all donated from KeyBank.

More than 40 toys were donated and they were all collected by KeyBank’s Hispanic/Latino Key Business Impact and Networking Group's members.

Organizers say it was important to them to keep the tradition alive here in Western New York.

"With all of the families that recently were, had to leave Puerto Rico due to Hurricane Maria. And make Buffalo home, we wanted to make it extra special this year," said Wilmer Olivencia Jr., Olivencia Community Center Board President.

Three Kings Day is usually celebrated in the Hispanic and Caribbean community honoring the three wise men who gave gifts to Jesus on Christmas.

The celebration takes place this Saturday at the Pucho Olivencia Center at 261 Swan Street in Buffalo.
