BUFFALO, N.Y. -- A long-awaited opening was celebrated Wednesday in North Buffalo.
A ribbon-cutting opened up the Lexington Cooperative Market's new location on Hertel Ave.
The new store is almost twice the size as the first Elmwood location and the co-op says it listened to customers who wanted an expansion.
The co-op is community-owned and features food from local farmers and producers.
"I'm really excited about it," said customer Andrea Levine. "It's a lot closer to my house, so it's a lot more convenient. And I'm also really excited about the parking lot, which I know is weird, but it's such a big parking lot -- so it's really cool and I like that there's a seating area. It's a lot nicer and really cool to be a part of."
