BUFFALO, N.Y. — Colvin Cleaners kicked off their 16th annual 'Gowns for Prom' on Tuesday night.
The program gives local high schoolers in need a chance to stop by the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center to choose from thousands of free dresses in all colors, sizes, and styles.
Colvin Cleaners Vice President Christopher Billoni told 2 On Your Side, "Usually we give away 1000 or so gowns every year. That's what's selected. But in order to give away 1000 we have to have 10-15 options available. We're not the fashion police, we have no idea what people are gonna decide to wear, so we've gotta have a lot of options. so even if you donate at the end of this year those will go on next year for the donations."
The event continues on Wednesday and Thursday from 3 p.m. until 7p.m.
All students in need of a dress must sign up ahead of time.
