BUFFALO, N.Y. — GObike Buffalo is brewing up new ideas to help Western New Yorkers get involved in bike riding, and it's doing it one cup of joe at a time.
The organization announced today, the launch of High Gear Coffee.
GObike says the beans are locally roasted thanks to a partnership with 716 Ministries and its workforce development program.
Proceeds from coffee sales will go to support GObike Buffalo's initiatives to help the community. These efforts Include:
- Recycle-A-Bike: Local students learn basic bike mechanics and build their own bikes
- Sisters Cycling: Working with refugee women to ride confidently and maintain their own bikes
- Youth Bike Giveaway: GoBike's annual effort to donate more than 300 bikes to kids in need
- Open Shop: Allowing members to fix their bikes with Gobike Buffalo's tools and guidance
- Bike Rodeo: Teaching kids how to ride
- Mobile Repair: GoBike Buffalo teams go into neighborhoods and fix anyone’s bike for free
Bags of coffee can be shipped or picked up from GObike Buffalo's community workshop on Broadway.
