Thrill-seekers go ghost-hunting as October nears

People in attendance took a tour of the Buffalo Niagara Heritage Village and learned some history about paranormal activity there.

CITY OF TONAWANDA, N.Y. — It's not quite October, but on Friday night, some Western New Yorkers tried their luck and sought out the paranormal.

The Buffalo Niagara Heritage Village had its first ghost hunt of the fall season on Friday night. People in attendance took a tour of the Buffalo Niagara Heritage Village and learned some history about paranormal activity there.

Then they split into teams to search for supernatural beings.

The village has three more ghost hunts planned for October, and they're all sold out. The remaining ghost hunts will happen from 8:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Friday nights, on Oct. 4, Oct. 11, and Oct. 25.

Ghost hunting equipment is provided.
