Flooding Forces Some Road Closures

The constant rain is causing flooding on some WNY roadways.

ERIE COUNTY:

Amherst:

Dodge Road eastbound and westbound is closed between Glen Oak Drive and Transit Road due to flooding.

Clarence:

Clarence Center Road eastbound and westbound is closed between Shimerville Road and Goodrich Road in the Town of Clarence due to flooding.

Tonawanda Creek Road eastbound and westbound is closed between Salt Road and Rapids Road in the Town of Clarence due to flooding.

Rapids Road eastbound and westbound is closed between Tonawanda Creek Road and Berghorn Road in the Town of Clarence due to flooding.

Salt Road Northbound and Southbound is closed between Cedar Road and Rapids Road in the Town of Clarence due to flooding.

Tonawanda Creek Road Eastbound and Westbound is closed between Brauer Road and Rapids Road in the Town of Clarence due to flooding.

Goodrich Road northbound and southbound is closed between Lapp Road and Sesh Road in the Town of Clarence due to flooding.

Newstead:

Cedar Street northbound and southbound is closed between Brucker Road and Koepsel Road due to flooding.

Koepsel Road eastbound and westbound is closed between Cedar Street and Route 93 due to flooding.

Burdick Road northbound and southbound is closed between Tonawanda Creek Road and Block Church Road due to flooding.

NIAGARA COUNTY:

Royalton:

Riddle Road northbound and southbound is closed between Kinne Road and Tonawanda Creek Road due to flooding.

Tonawanda Creek Road eastbound and westbound is closed between Riddle Road and Block Church Road due to flooding.

Foote Road eastbound and westbound is closed between Wolcottsville Road and Koepsel Road due to flooding.

Wolcottsville Road northbound and southbound is closed between Fisk Road and Akron Road due to flooding.

Ertman Road eastbound and westbound is closed between Akron Road and Block Church Road due to flooding.

In addition, the Town of Amherst issued the following statement:

Residents living in the northeast part of town (within the boundaries of Tonawanda Creek Road to Campbell Boulevard to Dodge Road to Casey Road to Transit Road) will find that many streets are flooded and may be impassable. Do not drive through flooded areas. Do not avoid traffic cones or barricades set up to indicate the road is closed. If you see a flooded street ahead, turn around and find an alternative route for your destination.
