Fire rekindles at Chautauqua County motel

The original fire, which began early Tuesday morning sent four people, including two firefighters, to the hospital.

CHAUTAUQUA, N.Y. — The Colony Motel caught on fire again Tuesday night.

The hotel is located on Fairmount Avenue in Jamestown.  Firefighters were called around 11:30 p.m. after the fire rekindled.

The original fire, which began early Tuesday morning sent four people, including two firefighters, to the hospital.  They have all been treated and released.

Investigations say they are still looking into what caused the first fire. Leftover debris from the morning fire rekindled overnight.  It took firefighters about two hours to extinguish.

The West side of the building had more fire damage according to the Celeron Fire Department.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Fifteen people were displaced.  They are being assisted by the American Red Cross and Salvation Army.
