AMHERST, N.Y. — A disturbance created a delay at a high school football game Friday night in Western New York.
The incident happened around 8:30 p.m. Friday near the Sweet Home High School football field, where the Amherst Police Department said it received a report of a fight that included juveniles.
Amherst Police released a press release Monday saying that the fight involved multiple youths near the field during the game.
Police reported no injuries and no arrests from the incident, which caused a delay before the start of the second half.
Police say the school's administration is aware of the incident and will be referring it through their disciplinary process. 2 On Your Side reached out to the school district who did not want to comment on the situation.
The game eventually resumed, and Orchard Park beat Sweet Home 49-37 to open a new high school football season across the state.
