A crash in the Town of Perry leaves one dead

After the crash, other motorists on the road and first responders tried performing CPR on the victim.

PERRY, N.Y. — Police are investigating a fatal crash reported in the Town of Perry, leaving one woman dead. 

Wyoming County Sheriff's Office responded to the reported calls of the crash by sending deputies to dispatch to the scene with the Wyoming County Crash Management Team as well.

The crash happened on Friday, December 29 at just after 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of State Route 20A at Silver Lake Road in the Town of Perry.

Carolyn A. Robb, 78, of Perry, NY was driving a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica eastbound when she drove into the back end of a stopped 2015 Honda CRV that was waiting in traffic to make a left-hand turn.

After the crash, other motorists on the road and first responders tried performing CPR on Robb. She was then transported by Perry Ambulance to Strong Memorial Hospital where she was sent for treatment. 

Robb died from her injuries on the following day, on Saturday, December 30 while at the hospital.

The other agencies that assisted on the scene include the Perry Police Department, New York State Police, Perry Center Fire Department, Wyoming County EMS, Eddy’s Collision & More, and Valley Sales & Service.
