BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Explore & More Children's Museum on Wednesday unveiled its newest changes, which showcase a perfect blend of Buffalo's past and present.
The museum opened a new exhibit, which spotlights The Broadway Market. Kids will be able to see the classic vendors, and there will also be connections to the market's Polish past, such as polka music and dancing.
During a news conference Wednesday, 2 On Your Side was told that this would be a fun way of teaching children about the Queen City's rich history.
"Explore & More’s dedication to showcasing the vibrant tapestry of Buffalo's East Side through this new Broadway Market exhibit is commendable," Fillmore District Common Council member Mitch Nowakowski said.
"The Broadway Market holds a special place in the hearts of our Fillmore District community and city, and this initiative further cements its legacy as a cultural cornerstone. I'm thrilled to work alongside Explore & More and the Broadway Market to see our rich history and traditions honored in such a meaningful way."
Kids will also be able to build butter lambs during their time there, while also exploring new languages.
Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown said he was excited to see the new exhibit on display at the Canalside attraction.
"Having such a wonderful and engaging children’s museum embrace an iconic landmark in this way is a great example of working together to celebrate Buffalo’s rich and diverse cultural history," Mayor Brown said. "I encourage all residents and visitors to check out ‘The Broadway Market Exhibit at Explore & More’ and learn first-hand how the market went from a Polish immigrant meeting place in 1888 to today’s multicultural shopping hub for all to enjoy."
