CHEEKTOWAGA, NY - The Erie County Clerk's pistol permit office has been a very busy place ever since the SAFE Act passed four years ago. This past March they had more transactions than any prior month.
Because of that, a brand new mobile outreach office will be opening Wednesday at Cheektowaga Town Hall. It will be open every Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. to service pistol permit holders and to amend permits.
Downtown is not the most convenient location for a lot of the customers, and parking is difficult to find too. "Many people tell us they are paying more for parking than to amend their permits. We hear that, and are excited to offer this new mobile location to permit holders," said Erie County Clerk Chris Jacobs.
