WEST SENECA, N.Y. — Erie County is making it easier to submit or change your pistol permits.
Starting next Tuesday, applicants can submit forms, get their picture, or pick up new forms at the Erie County Clerk's outreach center in West Seneca.
Existing permit owners can also make changes starting on Nov. 18 at the Erie County Auto Bureau in Depew.
"The pistol permit process has changed," Erie County Clerk Mickey Kearns told 2 On Your Side.
"There has been many changes under New York State law, and we just wanted to make it easier for those applicants who are coming in, and it was quite a cumbersome process, it really was, and we really streamlined it and made it more efficient."
Another big change is that Erie County is no longer accepting cash or checks for these transactions.
