BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Erie County Sheriff's Office recently shared in a release that they used Air 1 to locate a missing 83-year-old man.
On May 15 at 7:10 p.m. Erie County Dispatchers had gotten a call regarding a woman's missing elderly father who had gone to the store in his black PT cruiser, but didn't come home.
The woman had also mentioned that she had talked to her father on the phone but couldn't figure out where he was due to the confused state he seemed to be in. Dispatchers began doing a cell phone trace and notified Air 1.
A cell phone trace led the area of the salt plant at the Hamburg Turnpike. Air 1 had began their search when they had found his car on route 5 at Outer Harbor Drive.
Both the man and his car were safely reunited with his family.
