BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Elmwood Village Association (EVA) is celebrating its 30 year anniversary in November.

Starting November 1 until the 8, events for all ages will take place, including special days called "Shop Elmwood,” “Bike Elmwood,” “Read Elmwood,” “Explore Elmwood,” “Clean-Up Elmwood,” “Eat Elmwood,” and “Elmwood After Hours."

Local historian Angela Keppel will also provide guided tours.

The first event will be a champagne toast at the EVA office inside of Lafayette Avenue Presbyterian Church at 875 Elmwood Avenue at 5 p.m. If you're interested in this event, you can RSVP to director@elmwoodvillage.org by October 31.

The association is known for hosting ArtFest, Porchfest, and other events throughout the year.

"We keep the community informed and engaged, and invest in beautification projects contributing to a distinct sense of place," James Cichocki, Executive Director of the EVA said. "Now it’s to celebrate with our friends and neighbors everything that led us to be named one of America’s 10 Best Neighborhoods by the American Planning Association.”

A news release shared with 2 On Your Side shed light on some history of the organization, which was originally called 'Forever Elmwood Corporation' and was formally founded in November of 1994. The group is compiled of Elmwood Avenue business owners, property owners, and neighborhood residents.
