ALDEN, NY-- The Erie County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of an inmate at the Erie County Correctional Facility in Alden.
Officials say the inmate hanged himself in an area where there are no cameras.
The Sheriff's office contacted the NYS Commission on Corrections and notified them of the death.
Officials did not release the identity of the inmate, but did say he was in the jail on drug charges from the Town of Hamburg.
