BUFFALO, NY - Buffalo Common Council president and local pastor Darius Pridgen traveled to Baltimore Sunday where he took part in a protest rally.
Pridgen says he wants to make sure people understand the true meaning of justice and peace. He thinks traveling to Baltimore and seeing what that city is going through will help prevent similar tragedies from happening in our area.
"You had rioters and then you had community right in between, keeping that peace, and there's a lesson to be learned there. I think it's a great lesson to be learned."
Before Pridgen left for Baltimore he held a special service at True Bethel Church where he invited Buffalo police officers to stand in front and meet with the congregation -- a move that he hopes will help build trust.
