Early voting starts on Saturday in NYS

Early voting starts on Saturday in New York State.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Early voting starts this Saturday, October 26, and runs through November 3 in New York.

The hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends and noon to 9 p.m. on weekdays.

You can vote early at any location in the county where you are registered.

Erie County has 38 sites.

Erie County Board of Elections Commissioner Jeremy Zellner (D) said "People can use any site during early voting, but on Election Day they have to return to where they're usually voting."

There is also the early vote by mail ballot. The information can be found on the Board of Elections website or click here.

The fast pass card mailed to all registered voters will make the check-in process faster.

According to Commissioner Ralph Mohr (R), "It has a barcode which will call up the name of the individual and they can use it on the registration."

Saturday is the last day to register to vote.

For viewers in Pennsylvania, the deadline to register is today - Monday!

You can go on the Board of Elections website to make sure your address is correct so that you vote at the right location on Election Day.

Mohr said "You do have until Saturday, October 26 to register and you can register at any one of the early voting sites and you'll be handed a provisional ballot, which you will be able to vote, put in an envelope. We will process your registration if you're qualified to vote. "

"If you're a resident of Erie County, you have to go to an Erie County site and the same thing is true for Niagara, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, and Wyoming County. However, in Erie County, we have universal voting where you can go to any of the 38 early voting sites and cast your ballot."
