BUFFALO, N.Y. -- A hometown food favorite is making a return to its Downtown Buffalo roots.
Ted's Hot Dogs announced Monday it will open a new location on Chippewa St. this summer. Ted's got its start in the shadow of the Peace Bridge on Porter Avenue back in 1927.
The new location will be the chain's ninth in WNY.
"We've had our eye on the city for quite some time, as there is definitely a vibe in Downtown Buffalo that is making the area attractive to new businesses and those wanting to be part of the urban resurgence," said Joe Durst, Chief Executive Officer.
The Chip Strip location will recall the history of Ted's, including the company's origins on the West Side. Plans also call for an outdoor patio and a test trial of an online ordering system, allowing customers to pre-order and pick up at a designated time.
