BUFFALO, N.Y.- A couple of good samaritans rescued a 54-year-old man Tuesday after he fell on the Metro Rail tracks at the Allen Street-Medical Campus station.

NFTA officials say the man, who may have a vision problem, exited the train and walked into a wall. He then turned around and walked near the edge of the platform, eventually falling onto the tracks.

"When I turned back around from going up the escalator, he fell straight down into the tracks," Kedra Corley, one of his rescuers said. "Me, this other guy and this lady, helped him up off the track and he bust the back of his head really bad."

The man was rushed to Erie County Medical Center, where officials say he is in stable condition with possible head and rib injuries.

There were no other people near the man when he fell, and officials do not suspect foul play.
