BUFFALO, N.Y. — A young boy from Buffalo, Desmond Benimoff recently got the devastating news after being cancer-free for a few years that his leukemia has returned.
Sweet Buffalo shared Desmond's story on social media mentioning that one of the hardest parts so far for Desmond has been not getting to see his furry friend, and loyal rescue dog Louie while staying at Oishei Hospital.
Luckily though since his re-diagnosis in November, Desmond has now been cleared to come home and receive outpatient care.
A local non-profit organization 'Making Memories That Last Forever' heard about Desmond's battle, and came up with a special t-shirt design featuring Louie the dog to raise funds for the family.
Their mission is to provide patients, and their families with the funds to overcome health hurdles.
Sweet Buffalo wrote in their social media post "Louie is now asking the community for their support in raising funds to keep their family together while Desmond fights to beat cancer! Desmond rescued Louie and now Louie wants the community to come to the rescue of his boy."
