TOWN OF HOLLAND, N.Y. -- A Buffalo News delivery man was charged with delivering marijuana with newspapers Saturday, Erie County Sheriff Deputies say.
The arrest came after someone gave deputies a tip about a person selling illegal drugs during a morning delivery route.
Saturday around 6 a.m., a deputy pulled over a vehicle for a traffic violation on Olean Road in the Town of Holland.
He then discovered it was the person of interest in the drug complaints involving newspaper deliveries: Douglas Lukehart, 58, of Sardinia.
The deputy and his K9 searched Douglas' vehicle and the K9 found something in a stack of newspapers. The deputy identified it as a bag of marijuana.
Lukehart has been charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and was issued traffic tickets. He is scheduled to appear in Holland Town Court at a later time.
