CUBA, N.Y. -- At least one rescue was prompted by flooding in Allegany County early Sunday morning.
The Sheriff's office says at least two people were stuck in a car in a flooded area of County Road 20.
Cuba fire and police were called to the area around 1 a.m. Sunday morning. It took emergency responders until 3 a.m. to get the two in the flooded car to safety.
Those who live on Orchard Street in Cuba were evacuated due to high water levels, but were able to return to their homes later Sunday morning.
The American Red Cross volunteers responded at 3 a.m. to the Cuba flooding, making sure evacuated residents had safe shelter.
