MIDDLEPORT, N.Y. — Two construction workers were taken to ECMC, one by Mercy Flight after a car crashed into a water tanker truck on State Road in Royalton Thursday.
According to the Niagara County Sheriff's Office, a sedan was traveling westbound when it left the road striking a water tanker that was parked and unoccupied on the shoulder.
After hitting the truck, the car then struck a construction worker who was sitting in the grass nearby.
The sedan then hit another parked truck, knocking down a second construction worker onto the floorboard of the trailer, before finally coming to a stop.
The driver of the car was not injured according to police, but both workers hurt in the crash were treated for neck and back pain.
Officials are currently conducting an ongoing investigation.
