BUFFALO, N.Y. — As we approach 2024 many people may be traveling to or around the City of Buffalo for New Year's Eve festivities.
The City of Buffalo and Buffalo Police Department want to remind those traveling on New Years Eve of road closures happening for the ball drop and fireworks downtown.
Motorists are asked to avoid the downtown area listed below all day on Sunday, December 31. Setup for the events will begin at 10:00 a.m. with intermittent delays.
Street closures begin at 4:00 p.m. and conclude at 2:00 a.m.
- East Huron between Pearl and Ellicott
- Genesee between Huron and Ellicott
- Main Street between Mohawk and Chippewa
- Washington between Mohawk and Chippewa
It is also important to note that Chippewa Street will be closed from Delaware to Pearl from 1:00 p.m. on Sunday to 6:00 a.m. on Monday.
