CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. — The Cheektowaga Police Department said a woman has died after being hit by a vehicle Wednesday night.
According to police, shortly after 7:30 p.m., officers responded to a report of a pedestrian that was hit on Walden Avenue just west of Dick Road.
Police said a vehicle driving westbound on Walden Avenue hit a woman walking in the roadway. She was taken to ECMC, where she died a short time after arriving.
The vehicle's driver who hit the woman is cooperating with the accident investigators. No charges have been filed at this time, police said.
The accident is under investigation by CPD Accident Investigators. Anyone who witnessed the accident or has video of the incident is asked to call the Cheektowaga Police Accident Investigation Unit at 716-686-3527.
