CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. – A fire on Vern Lane caused a significant amount of damage to two homes in Cheektowaga Monday night.
The fire started around 8 p.m. All three people who were living in the two homes were able to get out safely.
The Cheektowaga Fire Chief says the cause appears to be accidental and may have involved a grill.
Currently there are no totals for how much damage this caused.
Volunteers from the Red Cross say they are helping one person as a result of the fire.
One firefighter is being evaluated for a potential injury after experiencing chest pains while working inside.
