BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Town of Ellington and the Chautauqua County Health Department are sponsoring free rabies vaccination clinics on August 22.

Clinics will be open from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Town of Ellington Highway Department building. Those interested in attending can bring their dogs, cats, and ferrets that are  3-months of age or older.

The health department asks that pet owners arrive with cats in carriers, dogs kept on a leash, and are prepared with previous vaccination records for each animal.

According to the CCHD "Vehicles will enter and follow the established traffic pattern on-site. Pet owners will stay in their vehicles with their pets, unless otherwise instructed."

Under New York State Public Health Law, each dog, cat, and domesticated ferret over the age of 4-months must be vaccinated against rabies.

Preregistration is not required. To learn more about Chautauqua county's rabies prevention clinics, click here
