Charity bowl-a-thon helps raise money for St. Mary's School for the Deaf students

The Charity Bowl-A-Thon involved teams of six bowlers who played for two hours.

WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. — A charity bowl-a-thon that benefits students at St. Mary's School for the Deaf was held on Sunday.

Special events, including weekend and after-school events or when clubs have to travel, are not normally funded by the state. That's why fundraisers such as this bowl-a-thon can really make a difference for the kids.

"Today is really a great fundraising event, [to] set up bowling. And the purpose is to have the parents, the teachers, the community, everybody collaborating together here socializing and just having some face time together," Pamela Rohring, a St. Mary's School for the Deaf ASL teacher, told 2 On Your Side.
