BUFFALO, N.Y. -- With the academic year quickly approaching, the University at Buffalo has announced changes to its bus schedule for the 2017-18 academic year.
Changes include longer service to late-night programs at the student union on weekends and to local shopping, dining and entertainment attractions.
These changes have been made after the university ran a pilot program last year that provided students with bus service to areas on Walden Ave. and the Galleria Mall on Saturday nights.
While this bus service will be added, a bus service will be discontinued between UB's North and South campuses on Fridays and Saturdays between 9 p.m. and 2 a.m. However, the university also says this expanded service will be available to staff and students going between the campuses for study and work purposes.
The university also says the new schedule is a result of feedback from both the university and local community.
The new schedule will become effective Aug. 28, when the semester begins.
You can access the new schedule here.
In addition, the university says it is looking into again changing its UB Stampede service to downtown when the medical school moves downtown. The service currently runs downtown 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Details on the medical school move will become more available during the fall semester.
