LEWISTON, N.Y. — The Strawberry Moon Festival, which celebrates Indigenous cultures in the Niagara region, moved inside because of the rain Saturday at the Artpark Mainstage Theater.
Through teachings of history, music, dance, and art, the festival expresses the pride of Native Americans that organizers said they want to share with as many people as they can.
The festival is still young in the Niagara region, with this being the sixth year it has been held.
There were more than 30 vendors at this year's event, as well as storytelling, music presentations, a discovery zone, workshops, and wampum belt teachings.
