LITTLE VALLEY, N.Y. — A Cattaraugus County Sheriff's K-9 will now be better-protected thanks to a body armor donation from a Massachusetts non-profit organization.
K9 Nichols received a bullet- and stab-protective vest courtesy of Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. The vest was sponsored by a fundraiser hosted by the Cattaraugus Little Valley School District. The donation to provide one for a dog is $950.
Vested Interest in K9s is based in East Taunton, Massachusetts. Its mission is to provide the body armor and other assistance to dogs law-enforcement dogs and related agencies throughout the US.
K9 Nichols' vest is embroidered with the sentiment "Gifted by Cattaraugus Little Valley School District."
