BUFFALO, N.Y. — American Red Cross is asking for 10,000 blood and platelet donations each week over the next month to meet hospitalized patient needs.
People who donate between October 21 and November 9 will receive a $10 gift card to a restaurant of their choice and all those who donate will also be entered for a chance to be 1 of 3 lucky winners of a $5,000 gift card randomly chosen each week.
Those who have a Type O blood type are encouraged to donate blood or platelets.
Cold and flu season as well as COVID-19, will not be a factor in stopping people from donating blood or platelets.
