OLCOTT, N.Y. — A popular local popcorn stand in Olcott will be firing up their kettles to re-open soon.
Located just minutes away from Lake Ontario Bye's Popcorn has been a staple in the community serving up their salty popcorn goodness since 1923.
The stand had closed for a short period of time when their beloved owner Patricia Drewes passed away in August. Bye's had shared to their Facebook page in August that they would be closed until further notice.
But now, the local business has announced their return. They posted on the stand in Olcott a flyer that stated that they will be re-opening on both October 21 and 22 from 1:00pm - 8:00pm. They will remain open on weekends, only up until December 24.
Another Olcott business located just down the street, the Eastside Market posted on their social media pages Thursday the news and is encouraging people to help spread the re-opening news.
The stand features both a traditional white corn, original caramel corn, and more.
