One house destroyed, two severely damaged after fire on Grace Street

The fire caused one home to collapse and one of the neighboring homes had its roof cave.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Two homes were severely damaged and another destroyed after a fire on Grace Street early Saturday morning in Buffalo's Black Rock neighborhood.

The Buffalo Fire Department responded to the two-alarm fire at 119 Grace Street, about a block over from Hertel Avenue around 5:40 a.m. a department spokesperson said.

The house where the fire started was vacant according to fire officials, but the two neighboring homes were occupied. 

Six people are now being assisted by the Red Cross because of the damage.

The fire caused one home to collapse and one of the neighboring homes had its roof cave.

The damage to the vacant structure is estimated at $150,000 while the two other homes have $450,000 in estimated damage, according to the spokesperson.

As of 10:00 a.m. Saturday there were no reports of injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
