BUFFALO, N.Y. — As many as 70 firefighters were called in to put out a raging three-alarm house fire Saturday morning.
The fire damaged two buildings and two cars on Connecticut Street in Buffalo according to a spokesperson for the fire department.
Firefighters were called to the three-alarm blaze at 325 Connecticut around 5:45 a.m. The two-story home was vacant according to fire officials and incurred an estimated $100,000 in damage.
A home next door was also damaged when the fire spread and caused an estimated $280,000 in damage.
Two people had to be rescued from an upper window using a Ladder truck the spokesperson said and are receiving help from the Red Cross.
One firefighter was taken to ECMC with non-life-threatening injuries.
According to Fire Commissioner William Renaldo, the fire required the help of several engine companies.
Two cars that were parked on the street were also damaged by the heat causing an estimated $20,000.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
