Former Buffalo Bills player promotes the importance of reading

To help celebrate a pep rally was held Tuesday afternoon promoting the importance of reading.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Boys and Girls Club on Massachusetts Avenue in Buffalo has a reading room.

Former Buffalo Bills wide receiver Andre Reed's, Read for Reed 83 Foundation, and Fowler's Chocolates helped remodel the reading room at the club.

To help celebrate a pep rally was held Tuesday afternoon promoting the importance of reading.

"This room is important to me because we have 15 around the country in Boys and Girls Clubs, stress the importance of reading, athletically if they couldn't read the playbook they couldn't do the play," Reed said.

The remodeled reading room is now known as Reed's Reading Room and it's decked out in Bills decor.

Read for Reed 83 encourages kids to tackle a good book and read at least 30 minutes a day.
