BUFFALO, N.Y. — Family and friends of fallen Buffalo firefighter Jason Arno are honoring his legacy.

Sunday afternoon the Firefighter Arno Memorial Foundation (FAM) held its second annual cookout at Buffalo River Fest Park.

The event featured live music, food, and a Buffalo Fire Department vs. Buffalo Police Department tug-of-war contest.

Organizers tell 2 On Your Side, all money raised will help provide scholarships for first responder families here in Western New York.  FAM co-founder Wesley King says "It's a blessing to do that, they come in day in and day out to help support us, and the little things that we can do to support them is exactly what we're trying to do, and it's a core foundation of our foundation." He added, "We're collaborating with a lot of other foundations, we're really looking to engage in how we can help Western New York first responders..."

Jason Arno died while fighting a fire in Buffalo's theater district last year.
