BUFFALO, NY -- The Kensington Expressway closed Monday night for the first day of filming for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles sequel. The busy roadway re-opened around 6 a.m. Tuesday.

Dozens of stunt actors, plus directors, producers and other crew members are in town for the next two weeks to film a major action sequence for the movie.

Neighbors trying to catch a glimpse of the action Monday night were forced across the Humboldt Parkway to the opposite side of the 33.

A production assistant told 2 On Your Side nobody was allowed along the edge of the 33 due to safety reasons. However, neighbors complained that there are no signs and not everyone was forewarned.

"You keep us up all night with bangs from your movie and we can't even see what you're doing," one woman, who didn't want to be identified, said.

Our 2 On Your Side crew noticed many folks gathering to try to see the filming. Each time, someone eventually came by to yell at them to move. It was not clear from the film studio or police what areas were on and off limits.

The Route 33 closure will be in effect each night from 7 p.m. to 6 p.m. Next week, helicopters are expected to join the filming.

Despite the nightly detours and loud noises, many who live there say they're excited to see a movie filming nearby.

"We're looking forward to it, so we anticipate being out here every night, because we are excited about the opportunity in our neighborhood," Caroline Smith said. "We don't get this very often.
