Buffalo Police: Suspect shot after traffic stop out of hospital

The suspect is being held on a parole violation. The two officers involved in the stop are on administrative leave.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — There's new information from Buffalo Police about Sunday night's officer-involved shooting.

Police say the suspect who was shot following a traffic stop on Northland Avenue is now out of the hospital and being held on a parole violation.

The two officers involved in the stop are on administrative leave, which is standard procedure in an investigation such as this.

"I can tell you that there is body cam footage from both officers in this case that's being reviewed," Buffalo Police Captain Jeff Rinaldo said. "As I've said from the beginning, the body cam footage is not the end-all, be-all, it's simply one part of the evidence that's reviewed in any criminal investigation. This one's no different."

The department is not releasing the names of the two officers involved, but they expect to do so after the investigation.
