BUFFALO, N.Y. — The downtown Buffalo library kicked off a Black History Month exhibit on Sunday.
It showcases historic Buffalo-founded organizations and the role African-Americans played.
The Colored Musicians Club and the Nash House are just a couple of the displays there.
"The Michigan Street Baptist Church was an Underground Railroad conduit that has historic significance. The founding of the NAACP was a part of this recognition," said Clifford Bell, the Buffalo African-American Museum chair.
The program featured speakers and performances. Every Friday this month will be a special presentation on the exhibit.
